The old adage ‘You are the average of your 5 closest friends’ has never been easier to control than today. These are the 5 guys I regularly come back to that help shape my world view, and keep me moving forward.
Tim Ferriss and his podcast guests have taught me more about business, life, and almost any other topic since first discovering him about 5 years ago. Doing yard work for 2 hours while listening became the highlight of my week.

Gary V is a large part of the motivation that got this site started. Follow Gary on Instagram for a daily dose of ‘Stop making excuses, and just f’ing do it’, ‘Have the conversation with the one person holding you back’, and my favorite ‘You’re gonna die’… yes that’s motivational.
I’ll never forget the trail run w/ a buddy who said ‘Do you listen to Lewis Howes?’ That question was life changing. Lewis is about my age and his story, work ethic, content and candor of going through life is one of a kind.
The, things got really messy, but I’m back from the dead message from James is really uplifting to me. He openly admits that he’s gone from really ‘high’ in a financial sense to rock bottom several times, and how it puts life and relationships into perspective.
Tony Robbins, I should be specific here in that it was ultimately the audio book ‘Awaken The Giant Within’, has been a mainstay in my life for over 7 years. I would listen to it all the time, and work through the exercises once a year or so… It’s funny listening to so many interviews and connecting the dots on so many who have done the same and gone onto do pretty big things. Jeff Bezos regularly talks about driving a truck delivering books listening to ‘Awaken The Giant Within’, that seems to have worked out well. It’s also how Tony Robbin’s became my internal monologue while reading, which has helped me read and retain info better than I ever could. That’s another post.
